LUIBAN Box for Kuretake Gansai Tambi Colors (for 8 pcs., HIPS)

An in-house 3D-printed box by LUIBAN, custom-designed for the large-format pans of Kuretake Gansai Tambi – holding exactly 8 colors. The material is HIPS (High-Impact Polystyrene), a tough, lightweight thermoplastic with a matte, smooth surface. The box serves as an organized storage place for individually purchased or set-extracted Gansai Tambi pans – or as an uncomplicated gift packaging for a personally curated selection.

Special Features

• Perfect fit for Gansai Tambi pans: The compartments are designed for the dimensions of large Gansai Tambi pans (approx. 48 × 28 mm). Eight pans sit securely without lateral slipping.
• HIPS material: High-Impact Polystyrene is lighter than ABS or PLA, yet dimensionally stable and impact-resistant. The surface is matte and feels dry-smooth – without the slightly sticky feel of some PLA prints.
• In-house production: The box is produced directly at LUIBAN on our own 3D printer – not in bulk, but made to order. Minor dimensional tolerances between individual units are possible due to the printing process.
• Storage rather than work palette: The box is designed for calm storage and presentation, not for intensive painting use with wet brushes or frequent opening and closing under workshop conditions.
• Gift format: 8 Gansai Tambi pans in one box make a complete gift – assembled with a personal color selection.

Application & Tips

• Assemble your own palette: Gansai Tambi is also available as individual pans. The box holds 8 colors of your choice – practical for anyone who wants to configure their working palette from the full range themselves.
• Travel and sketch palette: If you work with Gansai Tambi on the go, place the activated pans back in the box after your session. The dimensionally stable compartments keep the pans in position during transport.
• Storage for spare pans: If you keep frequently used colors in multiple sets, you can use the box as organized storage for replacement pans.
• Gift with curatorial care: A box with 8 hand-selected Gansai Tambi tones – such as a seasonal color palette or a selection of classic sumi-e colors – is a more personal alternative to the standard set.
• Avoid contact with solvents: HIPS is sensitive to organic solvents (e.g., limonene, gasoline). Store the box exclusively dry and do not expose it to solvent-based cleaners.
