The TWSBI ECO Espresso with Bronze is a piston filler with espresso brown cap and espresso brown piston knob, clear plastic body and bronze-colored trim parts – clip, rings and nib in matching bronze tone. The integrated piston mechanism fills directly from the ink bottle and eliminates the need for cartridges or converters. The transparent grip section allows you to see the ink level at any time – and your chosen ink becomes a visible part of the pen. Available in nib sizes EF, F, M, B and 1.1.
Features
- Bronze-colored stainless steel nib: The nib is finished in bronze and matches the color of the clip and trim rings. Bronze TWSBI nibs are known to write slightly wider than comparable silver-colored nibs – a detail that is particularly relevant for F and EF sizes.
- Piston mechanism with ~1.7 ml capacity: Unscrew the end cap, dip the nib, screw the end cap back on – done. No cartridge changes, no converter needed. The ink volume is sufficient for long writing sessions without refilling.

Usage & Tips
- Filling: Unscrew the end cap, fully immerse the nib in the ink bottle, slowly screw the end cap back on – the piston draws ink into the body. For maximum fill capacity: repeat the process two to three times, holding air bubbles upward with the nib and slowly push them out.
- Nib size F: Delivers a fine, defined line – well suited for smaller handwriting and narrow-ruled notebooks. On smooth, calendered paper, ink behavior and shading are most visible.
- Use color combination: Warm brown and caramel tones, copper-colored or shimmer inks play beautifully with the espresso-bronze color scheme. The transparent body makes the ink color a design element.
- Inner cap protects the nib: If you don't use the pen for a few days, you can simply leave it capped – the inner seal keeps the ink fresh and the nib ready to write.
- Maintenance: Don't use the supplied wrench and silicone oil right away – they are intended for long-term care. Lightly re-lubricate the piston mechanism every few months as needed.
- Cleaning before first use: TWSBI tests the nibs at the factory by dipping – the pen may have ink residue on the nib. Rinse with lukewarm water before filling for the first time.

The ECO Espresso with Bronze is part of TWSBI's so-called "Breakfast Collection" – a color family that introduces the third variant with warm espresso brown and bronze accents after Caffé and Crème. The nib is an iridium-tipped stainless steel nib with bronze coating; since TWSBI's bronze nibs tend to write slightly wider than their silver counterparts, it's worth choosing a finer size if a very fine line is desired. The ECO's piston mechanism is structurally identical to that of the TWSBI Diamond 580 – a fully plastic mechanism that can be completely disassembled and serviced with the supplied wrench. The grip section tapers to a triangular shape towards the nib tip, which allows for natural finger guidance when held close to the tip.
