Uni Marker Pencil Set Emott No 1 (4 pcs.)
The Uni EMOTT mechanical colour pencil is a push-mechanism coloured pencil in a sleek white barrel – a concept that combines the convenience of a mechanical pencil with the colour intensity of a traditional coloured pencil lead. Set No. 1 contains four pencils in green, light blue, red and violet, plus 8 replacement leads (2 of each colour) and a compact stand. Made in Japan.
Features
- NanoDiamond colour lead, 0.9 mm: The lead is infused with tiny diamond particles, making it significantly more break-resistant than conventional coloured pencil leads. The result is a consistently rich, vibrant line that glides smoothly onto paper – without breaking under pressure.
- Water-resistant and erasable on most paper types: The lead withstands moisture and can be corrected with the integrated eraser – a clear advantage over traditional wooden-barrel coloured pencils.
- Retractable sleeve with push mechanism: Press the cap briefly – the lead extends. Hold the cap down – the lead and sleeve retract completely. No sharpening needed, and no exposed lead in your case or pocket.
- Integrated eraser under the cap: Sits within easy reach directly on the pencil, so you don't need to hunt for a separate eraser.
- Colour indicator on the barrel: The white barrel bears a coloured marker, so the four pencils in the stand are instantly distinguishable at a glance.
- Stand included: Holds all four pencils upright and within reach – practical at your desk, and a neat presentation for a gift set.
- Refillable: 2 replacement leads per colour are included – use the pencils long-term without needing to replace the entire set.
Use & Tips
- Bullet journalling and planners: The four colours in Set No. 1 – green, light blue, red, violet – work well for a classic colour-coding system: categories, priorities, projects. The 0.9 mm lead produces a visible but not overly wide line that works equally well on smooth papers and wood-free printing paper.
- Sketching and shading: Light pressure creates transparent colour layers; more pressure produces richer, nearly opaque lines. Those building shading in coloured pencil drawings benefit from the break-resistant lead – it holds up even to angled pressure.
- Colour highlighting in texts and notebooks: The water-resistant lead won't bleed if you subsequently work with water-based inks or markers – an important consideration for mixed-media work.
- Travelling and on the go: The retractable writing tip eliminates the need for a protective cap. All four pencils can be stored compactly in the stand or transported together.
- Inserting replacement leads: Remove the cap, take out the spent lead, insert a new one. The included 8 leads (2 per colour) noticeably extend the pencils' working life.
For Planning and Sketching Enthusiasts
Mitsubishi Uni's NanoDiamond technology is an evolution of the classic graphite lead: by incorporating nano-diamond particles, the lead's tensile strength is increased, which is particularly noticeable in a 0.9 mm colour lead – the lead flexes slightly instead of splitting under pressure. This makes EMOTT mechanical colour pencils interesting for more technical applications too, such as coloured construction sketches or annotated diagrams where precision and corrigibility matter. Not permanent – the leads are erasable and therefore unsuitable for documents that require archival preservation.
