The Stalogy 018 Editor's Series 365-Day Notebook in B6 landscape format is a Japanese annual planner in horizontal layout – narrow enough for a handbag or rucksack, with 368 pages for a complete year. The 52 g/m² paper feels silky-smooth under the nib and is ink-resistant despite its thinness. In landscape format, it opens up a broad, spacious writing surface that invites free thinking and organisation.

Features

  • Landscape B6 format: The horizontal layout opens the page to approximately 182 × 128 mm – ideal for timelines, layouts, sketches or wide text blocks that feel cramped in portrait orientation.
  • 52 g/m² paper, ink-resistant: The ultralight, silky-smooth paper works reliably with fountain pens, gel and ballpoint pens – minimal show-through, little bleed-through. With fine nibs and water-based ink, it produces particularly clear letterforms.
  • 5 mm grid in light grey: The grid lines are printed so subtly that they don't visually dominate the page. Text and drawings take centre stage; the grid provides orientation without intruding.
  • Date and weekday line at the top: All months, dates and weekdays are pre-printed in the upper margin and can be marked or circled – one page per day, with no fixed year printed, so the notebook can begin at any time.
  • Times 8–19 on the left margin: The hourly markings enable daily planning directly on the writing surface – as a timetable, meeting notes or project timeline.
  • Flat-opening design: The cover opens completely flat and can also fold fully to the back – a feature that makes writing in tight spaces or with one hand considerably more comfortable.
  • Black cover with gold foiling: The robust, matte cover is hardwearing for everyday use; the simple gold lettering gives the exterior character without being obtrusive.
  • Japan Stationery Award – Excellence Award: The 018 Editor's Series was awarded the Excellence Award in the design category at the 23rd Japan Stationery Award.

Use & Tips

  • Daily planner with time grid: The pre-printed hours 8–19 on the left margin work directly as an hourly grid for the day – appointments, tasks and time blocks can be noted side by side without needing a separate planning system.
  • Fountain pen & ink: The 52 g/m² paper works well with fine to medium nibs and water-based ink. Strongly saturating iron gall inks or very wet nibs produce slightly more show-through – this is normal for this paper weight and not a quality defect.
  • Quick-drying gel and oil-based refills: For left-handed writers or those who note frequently on the go, quick-drying gel pastes or oil-based refills are best – the thin paper rewards you with clean, smudge-proof lines.
  • Layout work in landscape format: The broad page width makes the notebook a work surface for wireframes, content structures, travel routes or Gantt-like planning grids – the 5 mm grid provides a precise baseline.
  • Year-independent use: As no fixed print year is specified, the notebook can be started at any time – mid-year, as a second copy in parallel, or as a pure notebook without date reference.
  • White fountain pen ink or markers: The light grey grid offers sufficient contrast for white ink and light pigment markers – for visual notes or highlighting on dark ground, the black cover provides a harmonious complement.

For Planner Enthusiasts

Landscape format is a deliberate choice in the B6 segment: the short height makes the notebook narrow enough to slip upright into a jacket pocket, whilst the long writing width of approximately 182 mm per line offers significantly more space than a classic B6 portrait format. The 52 g/m² paper sits in the same weight range as Hobonichi Tomoe River – it's slightly more absorbent and shows less sheen with highly shimmering inks, but less bleed-through. If you want to combine your notebook with a bullet-journal-style annual overview and daily timetable, the Stalogy 018 offers a coherent system: date header, time slots and 5 mm grid complement each other without overlapping.
