Traveler's Notebook Regular Size Refill "013" Light Paper

The Refill 013 designed for the Traveler's Notebook Regular is equipped with Japanese thin paper. Because the individual pages are significantly thinner than standard MD paper, twice as many pages fit in the same notebook: 128 blank pages in a saddle-stitched booklet that takes up hardly more volume than a standard refill. The paper is white, smooth, and responds with characteristic ink behavior to fountain pens, gel pens, and ink.

• Fountain Pens with Broad or Flex Nibs: The thin paper showcases ink flow with pronounced contrast. Flex nibs, which work with varying ink release, come into their own on this surface.
• Prefer Quick-Drying Inks: Since the paper takes slightly longer to dry than calendered paper, quick-drying ink is recommended for left-handers or fast writers.
• Travel Journal, Daily Notes, Bullet Journal: 128 pages are sufficient for intensive travel or several months of daily use – without the notebook becoming noticeably thicker.
• Combination with Other Refills: The 013 can be used together with a calendar, map, or tape refill in a leather cover. The low thickness allows room for a second insert.

The smooth, slightly cool surface creates a characteristic soft gliding sensation when writing with a wet pen. Because the paper absorbs ink slowly, the ink initially remains on the surface and displays its full color richness: shading inks appear more contrasting on this paper, sheening inks show metallic shine particularly pronounced. For calligraphic exercises with G-nibs or broad nibs, the uniform surface finish is a clear advantage, as fine hairlines remain clean and without fraying.
