Hobonichi Cover PAMM: Thanks Sea (A6)

The Hobonichi Techo Cover PAMM: Thanks Sea is a collaboration between Hobonichi and the Japanese homewear brand PAMM – born from the idea that a Techo is something you carry with you at all times, much like a pair of pyjamas. The polyester cover features a sand-beige base fabric with wave-shaped blue lines woven into it, complemented by silver accents that evoke the shimmer of sea foam. The PAMM logo is woven in navy blue and silver yarn. This cover fits the Hobonichi Techo Original in A6 format.

Features

• Textile surface with depth: The blue wave lines aren't printed on – they're woven into the fabric, creating a three-dimensional, subtly textured surface that shimmers in light and feels firm and pleasantly tactile.
• Butterfly Stopper pen loops: Two side pen loops, called "Butterfly Stoppers" by Hobonichi, secure the cover and serve as a closure – a pen wedged in place holds the Techo closed without a button or elastic band.
• Two bookmarks with different charms: One bookmark with a triangular charm and one with a square charm – both made from the cover material – let you mark two different pages at once, such as the current day page and the monthly calendar.
• Interior pockets for cards and notes: Several slots inside accommodate business cards, debit cards or loose notes without requiring the Techo to stay open.
• Interior embossing with PAMM logo: The interior lining in beige faux leather features an embossed PAMM logo structure – a detail that's only visible when you open the cover.

Use & Tips

• Pen compatibility: The Butterfly Stopper loops fit pens up to approximately 13.5 mm in diameter. Slim fineliner pens, ballpoints and thin fountain pens slip in easily; broader pens with angular bodies may be difficult to insert.
• Two-bookmark practice: The triangular bookmark works well as a fixed point for the current day page, whilst the square one marks the monthly overview section – allowing you to switch between the two in seconds.
• Cover on Cover: The A6 format is compatible with Hobonichi Cover-on-Cover inserts, which let you customise or protect the outside further.
• Care of the polyester fabric: The textile surface can be wiped with a slightly damp cloth. Ballpoint or gel pen marks should be treated immediately, as the open weave absorbs pigments faster than smooth plastic surfaces.
• Fit note: The cover is designed for A6 Hobonichi calendars with a spine up to approximately 12.7 mm. Thicker books will fit, but the fit becomes tighter.

PAMM stands for the Japanese homewear brand developed by the design label "spoken words project" under the motto "Wear my thought" – clothing for the time when you're entirely at peace with yourself. The collaboration with Hobonichi follows this very philosophy: a Techo accompanies its owner as constantly as a pair of pyjamas. The "Thanks Sea" motif is one of PAMM's best-known designs and was adapted for the cover through an elaborate process combining knitting, printing and foil embossing – the wave-shaped blue lines are silk-screened, the curved silver lines are foil embossed, and the base fabric is woven polyester. The result is a textile that can't be compared to any smooth faux leather surface: it has grain, reflection and a palpable texture that makes the cover appear different depending on the lighting.
