"Carry" – the German word is embedded as a concept in the name itself: a case that wants to be taken along. The black nylon feels soft and has a subtle sheen, whilst the zip pull and magnetic clasp patch are crafted from bovine leather. The case folds triple around the Hobonichi A5 Cousin and closes via a leather-padded magnet – slim enough for your bag, spacious enough for pen, cards and accessories all in one go.

• Triple-fold structure with magnetic clasp: The case wraps completely around your planner. The magnet is covered with a bovine leather patch – soft closing feel, no scratching. Note: do not store credit cards or other magnetism-sensitive cards near the magnet.
• Zip pocket with gusset: The gusset gives the outer pocket depth – several pens, a ruler or thicker items like washi tape fit side by side without the case bulging or warping.
• 5 card slots + leather inner pocket: Five flat card slots on the left inside cover for rail cards or loyalty cards, business cards and small cards. On the right, a leather fold pocket for loose sheets, notes or slim notebooks.
• Pen Hook (clip-mounted pen holder): The hook holds your pen at the clip – keeping it flush, the case closes without any bulge. Suitable for fountain pens, fineliners and gel pens with a continuous clip.

Use & Tips

• As an all-in-one system on the go: Pop in your Hobonichi A5 Cousin, attach your favourite pen to the Pen Hook, place cards in the slots, washi tape or stickers in the zip pocket – and you have a complete mobile planning setup ready.
• Pen selection for the Pen Hook: Works particularly well with fountain pens, fineliners and roller ball pens with a sturdy, continuous clip. Very short pens without a clip (e.g. mini pens) will need a separate pen holder.
• Zip pocket for stationery accessories: The gusset accommodates two to three pens at once, plus small items like paper clips, washi tape, sticky notes or a mini ruler.
• Use card slots strategically: Beyond payment cards, the five slots work well for business cards, public transport passes, library cards or frequently used index cards in A7/A8 format.
• Care: Nylon attracts dust and fibres. Regular rolling with a lint roller keeps the surface fresh. Avoid moisture, heat and heavy pressure – this protects both the nylon and leather accents long-term.

The Tragen case was designed according to the principle of reducing functionality to the formal minimum: the zip closure, the gusset, the leather tab and the magnetic patch are each the result of several design iterations – with the aim of leaving nothing superfluous in the design. The soft nylon deliberately has no textured grip, but sits neutrally in the hand. If you use your Cousin with Tomoe River paper and prefer fountain pens with water-based ink, here you get a case that doesn't force pressure on your book – the triple fold lies flat and doesn't pinch any pages. The bovine leather accents remain supple with dry storage; prolonged direct sunlight can fade the leather parts.
