Midori Stamp Cat long

The Midori Paintable Stamp Cat is a pre-inked stamp featuring a delicate cat motif – compact, ready to use immediately, without a separate stamp pad. The oil-based pigment ink dries waterproof on paper and can then be painted over or written on with water-based markers and pens without smudging. The ABS and PC housing sits comfortably in the hand and enables one-handed stamping with even pressure.

Features

• Pre-inked without a stamp pad: The ink is stored directly in the stamp body – no separate pad needed, no setup required, ready to use straight away.
• Oil-based, waterproof pigment ink: The black ink is water-resistant once dry. Water-based markers and pens can be applied directly to the impression without the outline blurring.
• Paintable and writeable: The stamped cat motif provides space for colouring with brush pens or writing short notes – ideal for journalling, bullet journalling or decorated notebook pages.
• Up to 1,000 stamp impressions: The integrated ink supply is sufficient for around 1,000 prints. On first use, light pressure is recommended to transfer the motif cleanly.
• Compact half-size format: At 30.5 × 61 × 19 mm and 19 g, the stamp fits into any pencil case or notebook cover.
• PET protective cap with hanging loop: The transparent cap protects the stamp surface and can be hung on a hook – handy at the desk or on a shelf.

Use & Tips

• Test the first impression: On first use, press lightly – the ink distributes more evenly when pressure is controlled. Pressing harder or longer produces darker impressions.
• Paper selection: On smooth, ink-resistant paper (e.g. calendered writing paper with at least 90 g/m²), the motif shows fine details without fraying. Thinner paper can bleed through with too much pressure – test on a spare page first.
• Colouring with water-based markers: Because the pigment ink dries waterproof, water-based brush pens, watercolour pencils or fine-liners can be applied directly to the impression. Oil-based or solvent-containing markers may dissolve the ink.
• Journalling and bullet journalling: The cat motif works as page decoration, weekly column illustration or as a sticker alternative on sticky notes and cards.
• Combining: Multiple impressions side by side create a pattern; the motif can be combined with coloured backgrounds, washi tape or handwritten text.
• Cleaning: Do not clean the PE stamp surface with aggressive solvents – a slightly damp cloth for paper residue is sufficient.

For Journalling Enthusiasts

The oil-based pigment ink (pigment rather than dye) is more permanently lightfast than conventional dye inks, making it suitable for pages that should be preserved long-term – such as in travel diaries or archived notebooks. The stamp body is made of ABS and PC (polycarbonate), the stamp surface from PE – a material that transfers fine lines precisely and remains dimensionally stable even after many impressions.
