The Stalogy 018 Editor's Series 365 Days notebook in B5 format is an undated daily planner with one page per day – designed for anyone who wants to use their notebook not just as an appointment calendar, but also for sketches, lists, drafts and freeform notes. The 52-gsm paper is exceptionally thin yet surprisingly tactile: a silky-smooth surface that lets your pen glide effortlessly. Despite its 368 pages, the notebook remains slim enough for pocket or rucksack.

Features

  • Undated – ready to start anytime: The month, day of the week and date are pre-printed in the upper page margin and you simply mark or underline them. The notebook can be started on any day of the year without leaving blank pages.
  • Hour column on the left margin: The time markings along the left page edge enable structured daily planning – subtle enough to completely ignore when writing freely.
  • 5-mm grid in light grey: The grid pattern is printed lightly and unobtrusively. It keeps lines and drawings aligned without dominating your handwriting – ideal for neat script, sketches and diagrams side by side.
  • Thin, smooth paper (52 gsm): The light weight keeps the notebook surprisingly slim despite 368 pages. The surface absorbs ink quickly, meaning shorter drying times compared to more heavily coated thin paper.
  • Fountain pen friendly: The paper works well with fountain pens – fine to medium nibs and water-based inks deliver sharp, clear writing with minimal show-through. Very wet nibs or heavily saturated inks may cause slight ghosting.
  • Thread-bound binding: The notebook lies completely flat on the desk – even in the centre and without pressure on the spine. This makes writing across the full page width comfortable.
  • Generous B5 format (182 × 257 mm): The page area offers significantly more writing space than A5 – suitable for detailed daily notes, two-page layouts or combinations of text and graphics.

Use & Tips

  • As a daily planner: Mark the date, use the times on the left margin as a timeline – you're done with a structured daily page, no prep work needed. The grid helps you create columns for tasks, priorities or time blocks.
  • As a notebook or idea collection: The subtle structure fades into the background once you start writing freely. The B5 format is particularly spacious for sketches, mind maps or combined text and image notes.
  • Fountain pen recommendation: Fine and medium nibs work reliably. The paper dries faster than heavily coated thin paper – especially an advantage for left-handers. Very wet stub nibs may cause slight ghosting, but bleed-through is rare.
  • With gel pen or ballpoint: The smooth paper also works well for quick-drying gel refills and oil-based ballpoint refills – the pen glides without resistance.
  • Shitajiki (writing pad) recommended: Because the paper is thin, writing pressure can transfer to the following pages. A thin writing pad between pages prevents unwanted impressions.
  • Stickers and washi tape with care: Stickers and tape work well for decoration, but they do increase page thickness locally – with very intensive decoration the notebook can swell at these points.

For Planner Enthusiasts

The 018 Editor's Series won the Excellence Award in the Design category of the Japan Stationery Awards – Japan's largest writing supplies competition. The concept behind it is consistent: no fixed year, no pre-printed months in separate registers, no weekly overviews. Everything runs on a single, uniform page structure that transforms into any system you want through marking, underlining or leaving blank. This makes the notebook particularly interesting for anyone developing their planning system iteratively – and who only fills in the page once they know what the day has brought.
