Hobonichi TSUKI no IRO: Index Stickers
The TSUKI no IRO Index Stickers are register tabs made from sturdy PET, designed in the twelve gentle monthly colours of the Hobonichi Techo. The set contains two sheets: one numbered 1–12 and one blank – 24 stickers in total. The matte finish has a calm, understated appearance, and the material is grippy enough to function reliably when turning pages. Made in Japan.
Features
- Two sheets, two functions: The numbered sheet (1–12) assigns each month its own colour; the blank sheet can be freely labelled – for projects, trackers or subject indexes.
- Transparent adhesive area: The part of the sticker that lies on the page is transparent – so the page content and Techo grid remain visible. The coloured tab projects discreetly beyond the book edge and remains recognisable as a marker even when the Techo is closed.
- Sturdy PET, matte texture: The material is stiff enough not to crease when turning pages, yet lies flat enough at the edge so that the cover and case close without any problem.
- Compact proportions: The tabs project only minimally beyond the book edge – no bending in your bag, no creasing when closing.
- Colour coherence with the Techo system: All twelve colours correspond exactly to the monthly colours of the Hobonichi Techo Original and Cousin, so the tab colour matches the page colour.
Use & Tips
- Monthly index in the Cousin: Place the transparent part over the existing day tabs – all twelve numbered stickers will then align flush with the monthly sections. The dimensions are precisely calibrated for the Cousin.
- Position blank tabs freely: Top, side or staggered – the unlabelled stickers can be placed anywhere quick access makes sense: year overview, note pages, meal planner block, address section.
- Write on blank tabs with waterproof fine-liner: Those who label the blank tabs before applying them have more freedom when writing. A thin, pigmented fine-liner or pigment pen will remain permanent on PET.
- Stagger when applying: Place tabs at equal intervals – this creates a clean index strip that's navigable at a glance.
- Combine with other TSUKI no IRO products: Sticky notes and stickers from the same series feature the monthly colours and create a cohesive colour system across your entire year plan.
For Techo Enthusiasts
The transparent adhesive spot is no accident: it ensures that the ink colour of the Hobonichi page printing – the characteristic pale blue of Tomoe River paper – remains visible beneath the tab. Those using the stickers on the Original Techo (A6) instead of the Cousin (A5) should note that the tabs are designed for the Cousin and may protrude slightly further on the Original. The blank tabs work without limitation on both formats.
