The Hobonichi Cover Tragen in Bitter Plaid design is a Techo case for the A6 Original format – conceived as a compact transport system for Techo book and writing utensils in one. The name "Tragen" is programmatic: the case accommodates the planner alongside a generous zip pocket with a gusseted fold, while remaining thin and light in the hand. The muted plaid pattern in broken tones – restrained like a bitter-herbal winter palette – looks matter-of-fact and can be carried in any context, from the desk to the bag.

Features

• Triple fold with magnetic closure: The case folds in three layers and closes via concealed magnet padded with a leather pad – so no metal sits directly on the Techo block or loose pages inside.
• Zip pocket with gusseted fold: The front pocket has a sewn-in gusseted fold (soufflet) that provides enough volume for several pens, a ruler, or small accessories – without the case puffing out.
• Leather zip puller: The zip puller of the outer pocket is equipped with a leather grip piece that feels pleasant between the fingers when opening daily and develops a patina over time.
• Pen holder via clip: An integrated pen hook holds the pen on the clip – suitable for slim to medium-width pens. Fountain pens without a clip don't fit in this holder but can be placed in the zip pocket.
• Inner card and leather pocket: On the left inside are four card slots; on the right is an open leather pocket for notes, receipts, or cut-out memos.
• Bitter Plaid pattern: The muted plaid pattern in warm, broken tones is created by a fabric originally developed for shirt textiles – the surface feels soft and gently wavy, without shine.
• Handcrafted workmanship: Each case is sewn individually; minimal deviations in fit and tension are possible due to manufacturing.

Usage & Tips

• As a compact all-in-one system: Place Techo A6 Original inside, add two to three pens in the zip pocket, cards in the inner slots – the case replaces a separate pen case for on the go.
• Pen recommendations: The zip pocket accommodates slim fountain pens (up to approx. 13 mm diameter), fineliners, or ballpoint pens. The clip hook is particularly suitable for lightweight ballpoint pens or pencils that should be readily available for quick access.
• Ink and pen marks: Those who use Tomoe River Paper extensively with fountain pen ink benefit from storing pens in the outer pocket – no direct pressure on pages, no pen clip marks pressing into the paper.
• Magnetic closure and cards: Bank cards and magnetic stripe cards should not be stored directly at the magnet; the card slots on the left inside are sufficiently far from the closure magnet.
• Care: The nylon outer material can be wiped with a slightly damp cloth. The leather zip puller and leather magnet pad develop an individual surface over time – no care oil needed, but possible.

The Tragen is the only line within Hobonichi cases that structurally integrates the pen pocket into the cover construction – not as an add-on pocket at the back, but as a front pocket with its own volume.
