Hobonichi Cover beautiful people: Nothing to Hide - Green (A6)

A collaboration between Hobonichi and the Japanese fashion brand beautiful people – and you can tell at first glance. The cover is made from transparent PVC embossed with a crocodile skin pattern: the surface feels textured and firm, while deliberately revealing the Techo underneath. Green and a contrasting pocket color overlap in a tri-fold format to create a design that hovers between accessory and statement piece.

Features

• Translucent PVC with crocodile embossing: The material is shimmering and transparent, so the Hobonichi Techo beneath remains visible – an intentional design feature of the "Nothing to Hide" line. The embossed texture protects against scratches and gives the smooth surface tactile depth.
• Tri-fold format with snap button: The button is embossed with the beautiful people logo. The cover closes securely and lies flat in your bag without bulging.
• Pen holder inside: Holds a pen by its clip – works reliably with slim ballpoint pens, fineliners, and narrower fountain pens.
• Three interior pockets on the left: A card pocket at the top for business cards or debit cards, a middle pocket with zipper for important documents, an open lower pocket for sticky notes or small stationery – also usable as a view pocket.
• Color blocking with embossed shrink leather texture: The interior pocket in the contrasting color features a shrink leather embossing that creates a different tactile feel than the PVC exterior. Both patterns overlap to create a multi-layered design.
• Logo debossing: The beautiful people logo is subtly embossed on the back of the cover and on the left interior pocket – present but not obtrusive.
• Water and dirt-repellent material: PVC can be wiped dry and is resistant to light moisture.
• No bookmark ribbons included: The cover itself does not include ribbons.
• Exclusively designed packaging: The cover comes in special packaging designed specifically for this Hobonichi collaboration.

Application & Tips

• Compatible with A6 Hobonichi Techo Original: The cover is designed for the A6 Original (Techo). Books with a spine up to approximately 13 mm fit comfortably; slightly thicker books are generally possible, though the fit will be snugger.
• Pen recommendation: The pen holder grips at the clip – slim models with well-proportioned clips (e.g., slim ballpoint pens with metal clip or compact fountain pens) fit most securely. Pens without a clip or with a very wide barrel won't fit.
• Zipper pocket for essentials: The middle zipper pocket is ideal for bank cards, receipts, or folded note sheets that shouldn't fall out.
• Care: Don't store PVC in prolonged contact with printed materials, vinyl products, or other PVC covers – color transfer or deformation is possible. Store dry and protected from light.
• Window effect: Since the cover lets the Techo show through, the cover page of the enclosed book becomes part of the overall image – a beautiful effect if your Techo comes with its own cover design.

For Techo Enthusiasts

beautiful people was founded in 2006 by designer Hidenori Kumakiri. The brand works with the principle of contrast: familiar materials in unexpected combinations. This cover demonstrates that concretely – PVC, otherwise thought of as functional, is here connected through crocodile embossing to the formal repertoire of fine leather goods. The shrink leather embossing on the interior pocket reinforces this dialogue between synthetic and organic. If you value collector consistency: the "Nothing to Hide" series comes in three color options (green, orange, black) for A6 Original, A5 Cousin, and Weeks – all with identical basic construction, but with their own color blocking combinations.
