Hobonichi Planner 2027 HON Bow & Tie: Sheep Sheep Sheep (A6, eng.)
The Hobonichi Techo HON is your daily planner in book form – "HON" simply means "book" in Japanese, and that's exactly the feeling it conveys: a bound hardcover diary that feels like a beloved novel in your jacket pocket. The "Bow & Tie: Sheep Sheep Sheep" edition features a cover made from genuine tie fabric – a silky-smooth polyester weave with a subtle sheen, into which the sheep motif is woven as an integral part of the fabric. Marking 2027 as the Year of the Sheep in the Chinese zodiac, the pattern showcases sheep in playful poses, rendered in fine detail through the characteristic texture of tie fabric. Inside, you'll find the same trusted Tomoe River Paper as in the Hobonichi Techo Original A6.
Features
- Tie Fabric Cover: The cover is made from the same woven polyester fabric used for genuine ties – silky-smooth to the touch, with a subtle, lively sheen. The sheep motif is woven in, not printed, and reveals fine variations in light and texture depending on your viewing angle.
- Tomoe River Paper: The interior pages feature Tomoe River Paper – gossamer-thin and feather-light, yet tear-resistant and ink-proof. Fountain pen inks, gel pens and fine liners glide without bleed-through or buckling, even with wet inks that take longer to dry.
- 180° Thread Binding: The HON lies completely flat on your desk without needing to hold the pages – ideal for broad handwriting, sketches and two-page layouts.
- One Page Per Day: Every day from 1 January to 31 December 2027 gets a complete A6 page with a 3.7 mm dot grid – discreet enough to ignore, helpful enough to keep your writing and drawings aligned.
- Monthly Colour Coding: Each month is printed in its own colour, making it easy to navigate through the year even without a bookmark.
- Two Ribbon Markers: A navy-blue and a beige ribbon marker are permanently bound in – for frequently used pages or the current week.
- Silver Foil Stamp on Spine: The year and HON logo are stamped in silver on the spine – for easy grabbing from the shelf as your HON collection grows.
Use & Tips
- Fountain Pens & Wet Inks: Tomoe River Paper shows pronounced shading and sheen with wet fountain pen inks – narrow nibs (EF, F) produce sharp lines, whilst stub nibs really bring out the colour variations. Ink takes a little longer to dry on this paper.
- Gel Pens & Fine Liners: Pigment-based fine liners and gel pens work very reliably; oil-based ballpoint refills dry faster and are ideal if you're left-handed or need speed.
- Diary & Bullet Journal: The one-page-per-day structure invites daily note-taking – thoughts, to-dos, sketches, ticket stubs or photos all fit neatly on a single page.
- Monthly & Yearly Overview: The monthly calendar is perfect for forward planning; the yearly index covering 16 months (December 2026 to March 2028) allows quick cross-references across year boundaries.
- Bonus Pages at the Back: The rear section includes reflection pages and thematic reference pages – perfect for a year in review, wish lists or free note space.
- Cover Protection: The HON works with compatible HON clear sleeves that protect the tie fabric from wear – highly recommended for daily use in your bag.
For Paper Enthusiasts
Tomoe River Paper is renowned for its extraordinary balance of thinness and durability: around 52 g/m² is enough to handle even saturated ink fills – iron gall inks, richly coloured boutique inks – without bleed-through. The paper has a slightly smooth, non-absorbent surface that draws in ink slowly, allowing colour depth and sheen effects to develop intensely. If you're using multiple ink colours on a single page, allow some drying time between layers. The tie fabric cover isn't a faux leather substitute – it's a material in its own right: the weave has a two-dimensional texture of warp and weft threads that gives the motif a three-dimensional quality – a detail that only becomes fully apparent upon close inspection and handling.
