Hobonichi Folder Set of 2 iyo okumi A5
Two document sleeves crafted from transparent PP plastic, designed by Japanese embroidery artist and illustrator iyo okumi – whose motifs in coloured pencil technique develop a delicate, narrative visual language. The sleeves fit precisely into the inner pockets of A5 Hobonichi Techo covers and are cut to measure 204 × 146 mm. Each sleeve features a distinct motif on both front and back, so both sides remain visible in everyday use.
Features
- Perfect fit for A5 Techo covers: The sleeves sit snugly in the slip pockets of A5 Hobonichi covers – no shifting, no overhang.
- Two motifs by iyo okumi: Sleeve 1 shows "Good Night" (front) and "I'll be Waiting" (back) – blossom-rich, tranquil compositions with a sleeping figure and waiting dolls. Sleeve 2 features "Wanderer" (front) and "Asking the Migratory Bird" (back) – mountain landscapes in contrasting white and green tones with migrating birds.
- Coloured pencil technique on transparent film: Iyo Okumi's illustrations appear through the clear PP material like backlit watercolours – the colour intensity changes depending on the light.
- PP plastic: The matte, slightly textured surface of the transparent film protects contents from moisture and dust, yet is easy to clean.
- Double-sided design: Each of the two sleeves has a different motif on front and back – four illustrations in total per set.
Use & Tips
- In the Techo cover pocket: The sleeves slide into the slip pockets of A5 Hobonichi covers to organise notes, receipts, business cards or to-do lists that need to be readily accessible.
- Tickets and travel passes: Concert or train tickets no longer get lost loose in your planner – they stay flat and visible in the sleeve.
- Protect loose pages: Finished written or illustrated pages from your Techo can be stored without ink transferring to adjacent pages.
- Outside the Techo: The sleeves work independently too – as a small document pouch for any bag that holds A5-sized items.
- Care instructions: PP film can be wiped with a slightly damp cloth; avoid solvents or abrasive cleaners as these can cloud the surface.
For Techo Enthusiasts
Iyo Okumi works as an embroidery artist and illustrator – the coloured pencil technique used for these sleeves bridges her textile work and graphic illustration. The transparent PP film of these sleeves is deliberately kept thin so it doesn't expand the pockets of A5 covers. If you use multiple covers for different Techo volumes, you can simply swap the sleeves between them without needing to reorganise the contents.
