japanese Stickers Nippon (20 pcs.)
These die-cut washi stickers from Furukawa Shiko's Nippon series feature five classic Japanese characters: ninja, sumo wrestler, kabuki actor, samurai and maiko. The backing material is genuine washi paper – lightweight, soft to the touch and featuring a matt, subtly textured surface that gives the illustrations a warm, handcrafted quality. Each set contains 20 stickers: four of each of the five designs.
Features
- Washi paper backing: The fine-fibred structure of washi gives each sticker a silky-matt finish and makes it considerably lighter than conventional vinyl stickers – ideal for paper projects where weight and appearance matter.
- Pre-cut backing paper: The backing is slit down the middle, so individual stickers peel away cleanly and effortlessly – even smaller formats show a noticeable difference in everyday use.
- 5 designs × 4 pieces: The fixed assortment means you can decorate multiple letters, cards or parcels consistently without any design running out quickly.
- Die-cut shape: Each sticker follows the exact silhouette of the design – no white border disrupts the image on coloured paper or dark covers.
- Compact packaging: 75 × 80 mm – fits in a pen case, wallet or mailing card as a thoughtful little gift.
Use & Tips
- Letter seal: A single sticker sits precisely on an envelope flap and holds it closed reliably – thanks to the washi texture, the seal looks particularly elegant, not just functional.
- Journal & notebook: On smooth paper, stickers adhere without bubbles. On lightly textured surfaces (such as watercolour or kraft paper), a beautiful contrast emerges between the soft washi and rough base.
- Gift wrapping: As a seal on wrapping paper, organza bags or cellophane packets, they replace a ribbon – whilst establishing a distinct Japan theme.
- Postcards & stationery sets: Combined with letter paper, you can assemble small Japan sets where the design and stickers complement each other thematically.
- Scrapbooking & planner design: The die-cut shape makes stickers ready to use without trimming – for example as monthly header decoration or seasonal highlights in bullet journals.
For Stationery Enthusiasts
Furukawa Shiko works in the tradition of Mino washi, a Japanese paper with around 1,300 years of history from Gifu Prefecture. The paper is renowned for its characteristic lightness, slight translucency and even fibre structure – qualities you'll notice in these stickers too: the designs appear slightly translucent in light, creating a particularly soft impression on envelopes or pale paper. The prints are rich and sharp, without the washi paper wrinkling or colours bleeding.
