Polish free planner Klasyk black (A5)
The Klasyk by Papierniczeni is a free-form weekly planner in A5 format – undated, so you can start it at any time of year. The cover features thick cardboard with a textile linen spine, bound with thread stitching. Inside, cream-coloured 80 g/m² paper awaits, with a fine organic character thanks to eucalyptus fibre content: short eucalyptus fibres create a particularly even, closed surface that takes ink in a controlled manner and allows your nib or fineliner to glide smoothly across the page. The Klasyk is manufactured in Poland.
Features
- Free dating – start whenever: All weekly and monthly pages are undated. Days of the week and dates are filled in by hand – no lost quarters, no wasted pages.
- Thread stitching with linen spine – lies flat: The thread binding keeps the pad together permanently; the textile linen spine allows the planner to open fully and lie flat on the table – even in the middle of the pad, even after months of intensive use.
- Thoughtfully designed layout: Annual overview, monthly calendar and weekly double-page spreads in one book. The back half consists of dot-grid pages – perfect for notes, sketches, mind maps or page indexing.
- Eucalyptus paper 80 g/m² suitable for fountain pens: Eucalyptus fibres form a homogeneous, low-porosity surface. Ink doesn't bleed, writing nibs glide smoothly, fine lettering without feathering – even with wet nibs or broad stub nibs.
- Cream-coloured paper: The warm, non-glare cream white is easy on the eyes during longer planning sessions and makes ink colours appear rich.
- Cover made from thick cardboard: Sturdy boards protect the pad in everyday use and provide enough support to write without an underlayer.
Use & Tips
- Fountain pen: The paper is explicitly designed for fountain pens. Fine to broad nibs, flex nibs and stub nibs all work equally well – the closed eucalyptus surface prevents ink feathering and bleed-through with moderate ink flow.
- Fineliner and gel pens: Even with water-based ink from fineliners or gel pens, the cream-coloured paper produces a clean, smudge-free result.
- Weekly double-page spread as command centre: The entire week is visible at a glance. Combine it with the dot-grid note pages for task lists, journalling or free sketching.
- Undated = flexible: If you start mid-year, restart after holiday or plan on a school-year rhythm, simply fill in your own dates. The book adapts to you – not the other way round.
- Highlighters: When using highlighters on the cream-coloured surface, a quick test with your preferred ink is recommended – the 80 g/m² weight is designed for moderate ink quantities.
For Planner Enthusiasts
Eucalyptus short fibres create a particularly dense, even sheet formation with a closed surface during the papermaking process. In practice, this means: ink doesn't spread uncontrollably, line edges remain sharp, and even wet fountain pens with high ink flow produce a defined script. The cream-coloured result with its warm white tone – typical of unbleached or lightly bleached eucalyptus pulp – reduces contrast with the page, which benefits long writing sessions. Those using iron-based inks (iron gall) should note that the manufacturer does not explicitly warrant the archival quality of this paper.
