Twsbi Fountain Pen Eco Caffè Bronze
The TWSBI ECO Caffè with Bronze is a plastic piston filler with a warm, light brown coffee tone on the cap and piston knob – combined with bronze-colored fittings and a bronze-coated stainless steel nib. The transparent grip section makes the ink level visible at a glance and transforms the chosen ink into a visual part of the overall design. The ink reservoir holds approximately 1.7 ml – significantly more than a standard converter.
Special Features
- Piston mechanism directly in the barrel: No converter, no cartridges – the integrated piston fills directly from the bottle. Unscrew the end cap, dip the nib, screw the end cap back on, ready to write. The capacity of approximately 1.7 ml enables long writing sessions without refilling.
- Transparent barrel: Barrel and grip section made of clear plastic allow ink color and fill level to be fully visible. Color-intensive inks – such as deep brown tones, ochre or gold shimmer – really stand out.
- Bronze-coated stainless steel nib: The steel nib is coated with a warm bronze tone that visually matches the coffee-colored cap perfectly. Bronze-coated nibs can write slightly broader than uncoated nibs of the same size.
- Hexagonal cap with inner seal: The hexagonal cap prevents it from rolling across the desk. An inner sealing ring keeps the nib moist and ready to use even during longer periods of non-use.
- Postable – attachable cap: The cap can be firmly attached to the rear end of the barrel, which pleasantly extends the grip length when writing.
- Fully disassemblable: Included in the scope of delivery are a wrench and silicone oil – the piston mechanism can be maintained, lubricated and cleaned as needed.

Application & Tips
- Ink selection to match the color: The Caffè brown of the cap and the bronze finish harmonize particularly well with warm, earthy inks – brown, ochre, copper or amber tones visibly enhance the overall appearance in the transparent barrel.
- Nib sizes EF and F: Ideal for tight handwriting, small grids or technical notes. On smooth, calendered paper, both sizes provide a precise, clean line.
- Nib sizes M and B: For fluid, expressive everyday writing. The B nib is particularly suitable for headings, journaling pages or short notes with weight.
- Nib size 1.1 (broad nib): The flattened nib tip creates a clear line variation between horizontal and vertical strokes – ideal for hand lettering, modern calligraphy or designing bullet journal layouts.
- Optimal filling: After the first dipping, pump the piston up and down several times, then hold the nib upward, wait briefly for air bubbles to rise, and gently press the piston – this allows you to take full advantage of the ~1.7 ml volume.
- Care: The piston mechanism should be re-lubricated with the included silicone oil every few months. When changing inks, simply rinse with lukewarm water until the water runs clear.
- Note: This fountain pen is exclusively suitable for bottled ink – ink cartridges do not fit. The pen is supplied without ink.

The nibs of all TWSBI ECO models are manufactured in Germany and follow Western nib size standards – this means they are slightly broader compared to Japanese nib sizes. The 1.1 broad nib is a true stub nib: the flattened, slightly rounded tip creates noticeable line variation with minimal pressure without losing the writing fluidity of a round nib. Those who use more sensitive papers should note that wet nibs and broad lines release more ink – ink-resistant, smooth paper shows the most beautiful results. TWSBI nibs can also be exchanged: those who want to switch between nib sizes in everyday use can fall back on replacement nibs or complete nib units from the TWSBI range.
