MD Paper is not a calendered glossy paper, but a cream-colored writing paper developed in Japan with fine natural texture. This texture creates a light, controlled resistance when writing with a fountain pen – audible as the characteristic scratch of the nib, felt as precise guidance. Ink dries on MD Paper somewhat slower than on heavily coated papers, which makes shading-intensive inks particularly stand out. Water-based inks show rich colors with clear line separation on the lightly absorbent surface; pigmented inks such as archival inks adhere evenly. The diary is not archival – if you need permanently document-safe entries, combine it with appropriate archival inks or pens.
