The MD Notebook Diary 2027 in the Thin edition (A5) is a slender monthly calendar that combines appointment planning with free writing on MD Paper. By dispensing with weekly pages, the notebook remains noticeably thin and light at 111 pages – no unnecessary weight in your bag or laptop case. The glassine paper cover has a slightly translucent, cool feel and gives the calendar its characteristically reduced appearance.
Special Features
- Monthly pages only, no weekly grid: The Thin version deliberately forgoes weekly calendars. What remains are monthly blocks in block format – with wide margins on the left and right that can be used as a notes area, for tasks or short entries.
- Grid memo pages (5×5 mm, light blue): The majority of the 111 pages consist of memo pages with a delicate blue 5 mm grid. The grid is light enough not to dominate, but precise enough for sketches, diagrams or structured notes. Fountain pens with medium to fine nibs particularly shine here.
- MD Paper: The in-house paper was specifically developed for ink-based writing instruments. It is smooth, slightly cream-white and prevents bleed-through and feathering of ink – even with broad nibs, wet inks or fountain pens with high ink flow.
- Thread binding, 180° flat opening: The notebook lies completely flat on the table without pages springing back. This makes writing to the spine easier – even on small writing surfaces or on the go.
- Coverage December 2026 – January 2028: 14 months fully covered, including yearly overview.
- Glassine paper cover: The cover made of glassine paper is slightly transparent, robust enough for daily use and gives the notebook a calm, understated appearance.
- FSC-certified material: Paper and cover come from certified forestry and recycled sources.
Application & Tips
- Combine calendar + free planning: The monthly blocks provide an overview; the grid memo pages are suitable for day-by-day entries, project planning, habit tracking or free journaling sections – entirely without predetermined structure.
- As a companion notebook to a main planner: If you work with a fully structured planner, use the Thin version as a slender additional notebook for ideas, drafts or quick thoughts.
- Writing instruments: MD Paper responds very well to fountain pens with fine to medium-width nibs as well as gel pens. Inks with long drying times should dry briefly before turning the page – the paper is ink-resistant but not absorbent.
- Structure individually: The blank memo pages can be filled with your own grid templates, weekly masks or bullet journal systems – the grid provides orientation without limiting.
- Ribbon bookmark navigation: The colored ribbon bookmark allows quick access to the current page without having to flip through the notebook.
For Paper Enthusiasts
MD Paper has been independently developed and produced by MD PRODUCT for decades. It is the same paper used in the insert notebooks – also for the cover and endpapers. The surface is calendered and has a slightly smooth but not slippery texture that, particularly with fountain pens, ensures soft, even handwriting. Inks display vibrant color and good shading on MD Paper; inks with shimmer effects also stand out clearly. The paper is not archive-quality – water-resistant inks for documents requiring archival preservation remain the exception.
