Hobonichi Cover Colors: Aqua Lime (A6)

The Hobonichi Cover Colors: Aqua Lime is an A6 protective cover from the Colors series – a permanent fixture in the Hobonichi range, available in solid colours. The exterior features a clear, greenish-tinted blue; the inner lining responds with rich lime green. The polyester material has a slightly silky surface and a firmly structured grip.

Features

• Exterior colour Aqua: clear blue with green undertone – neither pure turquoise nor pure blue, but in the zone between, which looks fresh and cool in sunlight
• Interior lining Lime green: contrasting colour change when opened, which completes the colour combination
• Butterfly Pen Holder: two pen loops that keep the cover closed when a writing instrument is inserted – pen security and closure in one; diameter up to approximately 13.5 mm, initially somewhat tight on new covers
• Two bookmarks with attachments (rectangle and triangle): allow simultaneous marking of two page positions, e.g. monthly overview and current day page
• Opens flat to 180 degrees: the binding structure of the Hobonichi Techo remains fully usable through the cover, no resistance when opening
• Polyester with subtle surface sheen: easy to care for, wipeable, does not permanently retain fingerprints
• Compatible with Cover on Cover (sold separately): the smooth exterior readily accommodates transparent or patterned protective covers

Use & Tips

• Fits the Hobonichi Techo Original and Planner in A6 format; comfortably accommodates notebooks with a spine width of up to approximately 12.7 mm, for slightly larger spines the cover sits more snugly
• Breaking in the Butterfly Pen Holder: the loops are tight on new covers – regularly using a writing instrument of consistent thickness gently stretches them
• Writing instruments with textured rubber zones or irregular cross-sections may fit less comfortably in the loops than smooth round shafts
• Combine with Cover on Cover: the solid Aqua exterior provides a calm background for patterned or illustrated protective covers – floral, geometric and striped patterns stand out clearly on the Aqua tone
• Washi tape and stickers adhere to the polyester surface and can be removed again if applied with mild adhesive – ideal for seasonal decoration
• For travel: the cover weighs approximately 100 g and measures 165 × 244 × 3 mm (without pen loops) – fits flat into any bag

For Techo Enthusiasts

The Colors series has been continuously developed for years based on user feedback. All Hobonichi covers in this line are handcrafted, which includes minimal variations in seam appearance or tension of the inner lining – not a manufacturing defect, but a characteristic of handmade craftsmanship. The 180-degree opening is structurally designed for the Tomoe River paper of the Techo Original: because the paper is extremely thin and flexible, it particularly benefits from a cover that creates no closing resistance. Those who use fountain pen inks or heavily flowing gel pastes should note that Tomoe River requires a longer drying time – the cover itself is unaffected, but the combination of smooth paper and damp inks requires some patience before closing.
