The Takeo Dressco notebook in Fujinezu color combines two materials that each have character: Conqueror Wove High White as inner paper – an internationally valued writing paper since 1888 with a uniformly smooth, wove-rolled surface and embedded watermark – and a linen cover in Fujinezu, a bluish-grey Japanese tone from the New Japan Color Shine palette. Thread binding combines both into a hardcover notebook that opens flat and is made for extended writing sessions. Made in Japan by Takeo, a Tokyo paper trading house with over 120 years of history.

Special Features

• Conqueror Wove High White, blank: The wove-rolled surface is perfectly uniform and without ridge structure – ink runs evenly without feathering and dries in a controlled manner. Fountain pens, glass pens, fine liners and soft pencils glide smoothly and without resistance. The slightly warm High-White tone makes ink colors appear rich and high-contrast without looking glossy.
• Conqueror Watermark: Visible against light and a feature that has accompanied Conqueror paper since its creation – an understated reference to the paper tradition contained in every sheet.
• Linen Cover Fujinezu No. 216: The cover is made from silk-like linen fabric that feels cool and lightly textured in the hand. Fujinezu is a restrained blue-grey tone, traditionally rooted in Japanese color culture – calm yet expressive. The fabric's weave structure is fine enough to feel supple and tangible enough to provide grip.
• Thread Binding: The layers are sewn with thread, not just glued. The notebook opens completely flat – all the way into the spine area without tension or resistance – and maintains its shape even after prolonged use.
• Black Fabric Ribbon Marker: Subtly contrasts against the Fujinezu cover and reliably holds the current page in place.
• B5 Format: At 187 × 257 mm, the notebook offers sufficient line length for flowing text, sketches and full-page layouts – wider than A5 but more manageable than A4.

• Fountain Pen: Conqueror Wove High White is known for suppressing ink feathering while keeping the shading and shimmer of fountain pen inks clearly visible. Fine to medium-width nibs – including broad nibs – work precisely on this surface. Very wet pens or extremely ink-heavy writers should be tested on a single page first.
• Calligraphy and Lettering: The smooth, closed surface carries ink strokes cleanly and without fiber shedding – ideal for broad nib handwriting or brush lettering with water-based ink.
• Journaling and Diary: The B5 format provides ample space for longer entries, pasting notes and layout design. The blank pages allow free structuring.
• Guest Book and Archiving: Conqueror Wove is a correspondence-class writing paper. Entries that are to be permanently recorded with fountain pen ink benefit from the closed, abrasion-resistant surface.

Conqueror Wove belongs to the category of wood-free ECF papers with a content of cotton fibers – a blend that gives the sheet its characteristic grip, subtly soft feel and stable dimensional stability when in contact with ink. The Wove finish is created by uniformly woven screen mesh without ribs – the result is a light-opaque, structureless surface on which ink colors appear unadulterated and pen strokes remain clearly legible. The cover bears the designation "New Japan Color Shine", a Japanese color reference series with over 250 defined tones: Fujinezu (No. 216) is classified there as a blue-grey tone with slight grey shift – calm yet with clearly distinctive character. Important for ink fans: Conqueror Wove is not certified as archival-quality paper. For long-term stable records, appropriately certified paper is recommended.
