The Stalogy 018 Editor's Series 365 Days notebook in B6 format is a Japanese annual planner for people who use their planner for far more than just managing appointments. The red edition features a simple softcover with refined gold lettering – understated enough for the desk, distinctive enough to be spotted instantly in a backpack. 368 pages of thin, ink-friendly paper on a 5 mm grid provide space for notes, sketches, lists and timetables – all in one booklet that still lies flat in any bag.

Features

  • 5 mm grid in light grey: The grid lines are deliberately printed in a subtle tone – they provide guidance when writing and drawing without visually overwhelming your handwriting. Particularly helpful when creating tables, miniature sketches or structured lists.
  • Pre-printed date and hour markings: At the top of each page sits the month with weekdays to circle or underline; along the left margin run the hours from 7 to 24 – for quick timetables or time-block entries. Since the date isn't fixed, the booklet can be started at any point in the year.
  • Thin, ink-resistant paper: The paper is around 80 gsm and cream-white in tone. It takes ink richly, shows minimal show-through with most writing instruments – pencil, ballpoint, gel pen, fountain pen – and dries quickly. Particularly well-suited to fountain pens using non-overly-wet inks.
  • Lay-flat binding: The booklet opens completely flat and can be bent back almost 360°. Both pages lie equally comfortably for writing – a noticeable advantage in B6 format, where the inside edge otherwise quickly curves away.
  • Robust softcover with gold lettering: The cover holds its shape even with daily use in a bag or backpack; the gold-coloured title printing remains clean and readable.
  • 368 pages / one page per day: For a full year, yet only around 1.5 cm thick – the thin paper makes the difference between a compact daily companion and a bulky block.

Use & Tips

  • As a flexible daily planner: Circle the date, use the hour blocks on the left, rest of the page for free notes. If you don't fill in every day, simply leave pages blank or use them as note pages – the non-fixed printed date makes this possible.
  • Fountain pens and ink: The paper handles moderately wet inks well. With very wet inks or broad nibs, slight ghosting may occur. Quick-drying, less wet ink fillings (e.g. standard black or blue inks) flow particularly cleanly. Left-handers benefit from the shorter drying time compared to highly absorbent Japanese thin paper.
  • Bullet journaling: The 5 mm grid is a classic BuJo grid; the lay-flat binding makes double-page spreads pleasant to use. The hour scale on the left works directly as a future-log guideline.
  • Sketches and layouts: For quick wireframes, page layouts or storyboard panels, the grid is precise enough. Since the lines remain light, drawings can also be scanned without the grid interfering.
  • Flexible year start: Since no fixed date is pre-printed, the booklet can be started mid-year – ideal as a year-change companion that doesn't stick to the calendar.

For Planner Enthusiasts

The Stalogy 018 was developed by Sonic Co., Ltd. from Osaka and belongs to their premium notebook line. The B6 format measures 128 × 182 mm and is somewhat more compact than A5, but noticeably larger than A6 – a sweet spot for people who find A5 too large for a jacket pocket. The pre-printed date and hour framework is functional, yet deliberately subtle enough to use the booklet purely as a free grid notebook. If you keep several Stalogy volumes side by side, you'll recognise the red edition at a glance on the shelf or in your bag.
