Postalco Snap Pad Dark Blue (A4)
The Postalco Snap Pad in Dark Blue is a refillable A4 note-taking system whose core features a patented snap mechanism: perforated sheets are simply snapped in at the top and can be removed, rearranged or supplemented at any time. The cover is made from Pressed Cotton – a tightly woven cotton fabric produced on the same machines once used for tent canvas. The Snap Pad is handcrafted in Japan.
Features
- Snap binding (patented): Sheets are snapped in via two metal eyelets at the top and sit securely, yet can be released at any moment – no bending rings, no tearing. The system holds up to 100 sheets, according to the manufacturer.
- Pressed Cotton cover: The cotton fabric feels firm and slightly textured in hand, but softens with use and develops patina – white thread base colours gradually become more prominent. The material is PFAS-free and features a light water-resistant treatment without being fully coated.
- Natural character: As a natural material, cotton displays irregularities in the fibres and nubs – not a flaw, but part of the material's identity.
- Dark Blue colour: A deep, matt blue that appears vibrant through the textile surface of the Pressed Cotton – not a uniformly varnished finish, but woven colour depth.
- A4 format (22.5 × 32 cm): The generous format is ideal for full-page layouts, project pages, weekly plans or page-filling notes – wherever A5 feels too cramped.
- Top perforation: Compatible with the European and Asian standard 2-hole punch. Your own sheets – printed matter, calendar pages, photographs, map sections – can be punched and snapped in directly.
- Compatible accessories: Matching inserts from the Postalco range (Snap Paper, Snap Paper Plain, Steno Paper, Snap Calendar, Snap Pockets, Fabric Tabs) expand the system and are available separately.
Use & Tips
- Snap in your own sheets: With a standard 2-hole punch (EU/Asia), any A4 paper – letterheads, templates, grid sheets – can be integrated directly into the Snap Pad.
- Project organisation: Different topics can be separated using Snap Pockets and Fabric Tabs and found at a glance – no folders, no filing needed.
- Flexible rearrangement: Since all sheets can be removed individually, you can re-sort the order by priority or deadline at any time – ideal for iterative planning processes.
- Also as a sketching pad: The open A4 format and the stable cover backing provide a firm writing surface, even without a desk underlay.
- Writing instruments: The compatible Postalco papers (Snap Paper, Steno Paper) are suitable for fountain pens, ballpoints and pencils. Snap Paper has a slightly textured surface that guides the pen without excessive resistance.
- Cover care: When wet, dab dry, do not rub. Do not store near radiators or air conditioning units.
For System Planner Enthusiasts
According to Postalco, the idea behind the Snap Pad came about by chance when designer Mike Abelson noticed how satisfying it is to snap a card into a calendar snap. This led to a patented binding system that today is compatible with a complete ecosystem of inserts and accessories. The snap is not just functional – the satisfying click is a tactile signal that the ring-mechanism binding simply doesn't provide. If you find ring binders too bulky and sticky notes too ephemeral, the Snap Pad offers a system that combines page freedom with cover stability.
