Traveler's Notebook "009" Repair Kit

The Repair Kit for the Traveler's Notebook Regular Size (009) contains everything needed to replace the characteristic closure elastic band on the cover – and turns a repair into an opportunity for personalization. Eight different-colored elastic bands, two bookmark ribbons, and one metal seal are included in the set; assembly works without special tools, a hammer is all you need.

Features

• 8 closure elastics in different colors: Each band is 1 m long – sufficient for the outer closure band of the cover or the inner holding bands for the refills. One meter can also be used for two shorter sections if desired.
• Two bookmark ribbons (black & brown): Each 40 cm long, made from waxed yarn – narrow enough not to get in the way when turning pages, sturdy enough to reliably mark pages.
• Tin seal included: The small metal part holds the elastic band and bookmark ribbon together in the spine of the cover. Sealing works with a simple hammer – no special pliers or tool kit needed.
• Fits Regular and Passport: The kit works with both Traveler's Notebook formats.

Application & Tips

• Replacing the closure elastic: Remove or cut the old elastic from the existing seal, thread the new one through the eyelet on the cover spine, insert the ends into the metal seal, and seal with a short hammer blow. Trim any protruding ends flush.
• Replacing bookmark ribbons: Pull the 40 cm ribbons through the binding and secure with a simple knot – no tools required, done in a minute.
• Removing the seal and changing it again: If you want to replace the elastic again later, remove the deformed seal with a pointed object, thread it again, and set the next seal from the set.
• Spare parts for travel: The compact set fits in any bag and ensures that a torn or stretched elastic band is not a problem while traveling.

For Traveler's Notebook Enthusiasts

The metal seal uses the same assembly technique that Traveler's Company uses when initially equipping the cover: the band is threaded through a small cylindrical sleeve, which clamps the band through mechanical deformation – reversible, dimensionally stable, without adhesive. The Repair Kit is officially designed for the Regular format (009); the shorter closure elastic of the Passport format (014) is available in a separate set and is not interchangeable with each other.
