Oak pen holder "S"

A pen holder made from solid oak wood, crafted in Poland by Papierniczeni – compact in size S, with space for two pens or writing instruments. The surface is treated with natural oil: the wood remains visible, tactile, and alive. Because each piece is made from grown oak wood, it has a grain pattern that no other piece repeats.

Special Features

• Solid oak wood – no veneer, no particle board: the density and weight of the wood give the holder a calm, stable stance on the desk.
• Natural oil treatment – the pores of the wood remain open, the surface feels warm and matte, not lacquered or sealed. Over time, oiled oak wood develops a fine patina.
• Individual grain pattern – no two pieces are identical. Knot marks, color transitions from light beige to warm brown, fine growth rings: each holder is a unique piece.
• Size S (60 × 180 mm) – narrow enough not to dominate a full desk, large enough for two pens or writing instruments side by side.
• Two grooves – the milled indentations keep fountain pens, ballpoint pens, or fineliners securely in place without rolling away.

Application & Tips

• Ideal as a readily accessible holder for the two writing instruments used daily – for example, a fountain pen with black ink for notes and a pencil or fineliner for drawings or corrections.
• Oiled oak wood can be refreshed with a drop of natural wood oil (e.g., linseed oil) if needed – rub it in, let it soak, wipe dry. This keeps the surface supple and enhances the grain.
• On smooth desk surfaces, a thin felt pad under the holder can prevent slight slipping and protect the desk surface.
• By combining multiple holders, you can create clear visual organization – one piece for fountain pens, another for rulers or brushes.

Solid oak wood is one of the dense, hard hardwoods and is therefore particularly dimensionally stable – even with slight temperature fluctuations or changing humidity levels, as commonly occur in living spaces. The oil treatment without lacquer sealing is a craftsmanship decision: the wood can breathe, and any signs of wear can be remedied by re-oiling or light sanding and re-oiling. This holder is not a disposable product – with care, oiled solid wood lasts for many years, and the patina it develops is part of its history.
