Hobonichi ONE PIECE magazine Clear Folder 3 pcs. (A6)
Three transparent A6 clear folders created from a collaboration between Hobonichi and the "ONE PIECE magazine". The set features Luffy, Usopp, and Robin & Saul – each in an image composition that uses the transparency of the PP material as a deliberate design element. When both layers are overlaid, the front and back sides combine to form a two-part scene.
Features
- Transparency as design principle: The clear polypropylene folders aren't simply transparent – the illustrations on the front and back are designed so that when overlaid, they combine to create a complete scene. Two perspectives, one image.
- White background as a switch: Slide a white sheet of paper into the folder and the front illustration appears sharp and with full contrast – the background disappears, and the motif appears isolated.
- Perfect fit for A6 Hobonichi covers: The dimensions of 148 × 105 mm match the A6 format exactly and fit into the slip pockets of Hobonichi Techo Original covers (A6). The folders sit snugly without movement or creasing.
- Three designs in one set: Luffy, Usopp, and Robin & Saul – each folder with its own scene pair, no duplicates.
- Lightweight, flat format: Just 0.4 mm thick and 18 g total weight – the set sits inside the Techo cover without bulging or adding bulk.
Use & Tips
- As a cover sheet in your Hobonichi Techo: Slip the folder into the inside pocket of the A6 cover – the design shimmers through the cover window or sits visible directly behind the spine.
- Insert white paper for maximum effect: Place a single sheet of paper (such as an unused note sheet) in the folder, and the front motif stands out sharply from the transparent background.
- Overlay and compare: All three folders can also be layered or displayed side by side – the light-transmitting properties of polypropylene make them interesting as a small display object on your desk.
- As a privacy sleeve for loose notes: Store small notes, cards, or photos (up to A6) in the folders while keeping them visible – no searching, no flipping.
For Hobonichi and ONE PIECE Fans
The design concept of these folders draws on a technique that transparency paper and overhead slides have used in print design for decades: two layers, two information levels, one combined statement. Here, it's Eiichiro Oda's drawing style that carries this principle – the line work of the ONE PIECE illustrations is clear enough to function on a transparent base, and dense enough to avoid visual clutter when layered. The polypropylene material is acid-free and won't yellow under normal storage conditions, making the folders suitable as a long-term collectible.
