"Carry" is the German word for what this cover does best: it carries far more than just a notebook. The tri-fold Weeks cover in soft, silky-shimmer nylon features a spacious zip pocket with a gusseted base – plenty of room for several pens, an eraser or small accessories. The moss green tone is a cool, muted green that neither shouts for attention nor fades away: timeless and calm to hold.
Features
- Soft nylon with silk sheen: The outer material feels pleasantly smooth in hand and is lighter than leather – ideal for a cover that lives in your bag every day.
- Zip pocket with gusseted base: The gusset (soufflet) gives the pocket three-dimensional depth, so several pens, a tape dispenser or thicker items fit comfortably without bulking out the cover.
- Magnetic closure with leather facing: The magnet is covered with a leather patch – it closes securely yet feels soft against your palm when the cover is shut.
- Interior pen holder with clip hook: A small hook catches a pen's clip and holds it firmly in place without slipping – works particularly reliably with a slim fountain pen or a fineliner with clip.
- Structured interior: Right side features a leather pocket, left side has five card slots for cards, sticky notes or tickets – the cover doubles as a second wallet.
- Quick-access rear pocket: Flat and open, for travel cards, Post-its or a folded sheet of paper you want to hand quickly.
- "Handwrite" tag: A small embroidered textile label on front and back – subtle branding of the Tragen series.
- Handcrafted in Japan: Each cover is individually sewn together by a single craftsperson, which may include minimal variations in seaming and lining.
Use & Tips
- Pen combo for on the go: The clip hook holds pens with slim, firm clips particularly securely – a slim ink roller or mechanical pencil with metal clip fits perfectly. Wider rubber grip surfaces may sit slightly looser in the hook.
- Credit cards and magnetic strips: The cover contains a magnet. Credit cards, debit cards and other magnetically sensitive cards should be stored in the leather pocket on the right side, not directly near the closure area.
- Caring for nylon: The outer material attracts dust and fibres easily. A lint roller with light adhesive gently cleans the surface; strong tape can damage the material.
- Also suits Weeks Mega: The cover fits not only the standard Weeks, but also accommodates Weeks Mega – helpful for those who use the triple memo pad version and still want to stay compact.
- Harmonious pairing: The Tragen series is available in a matching pouch form from the same material – if you want to separate your planner and accessories, you can carry cover and pouch as a set.
For Hobonichi Enthusiasts
The name "Tragen" was deliberately borrowed from German – Hobonichi developed this cover with the explicit goal of transporting multiple writing instruments alongside the planner without sacrificing structured form. The result came after several iterations: half-fold with elastic band, then tri-fold with press stud, finally the current tri-fold with magnetic closure and leather facing. Each cover is hand-sewn and assembled in Japan by an individual craftsperson – minor variations in seaming and inner lining are a hallmark of handcrafted production, not a quality fault. The interior in warm brown creates a deliberate contrast to the moss green exterior.
