Hobonichi Planner 2027 HON Bow & Tie: Sheep Sheep Sheep (A6, jap.)

The Hobonichi Techo HON is a standalone daily planner in A6 format with a permanently integrated hardcover binding – no separate cover needed, no extra weight. The "Bow & Tie: Sheep Sheep Sheep" edition features a whole flock of fluffy sheep woven into brilliant dark green genuine necktie-fabric polyester with characteristic lustre and soft feel. The design corresponds to the Chinese zodiac for 2027: the Year of the Sheep.

Features

• Necktie-fabric polyester cover: The exterior material is the same glossy-silk weave traditionally used for neckties. The surface feels smooth and shimmers in light – distinctly different from matt book linen or smooth plastic surfaces.
• Woven design with character: The sheep are not printed but woven into the fabric itself. Look closely and you'll discover sleeping sheep, one jumping over a fence, one on a skateboard – and one with a pompadour hairstyle.
• Lightweight hardcover construction: The binding is sturdy enough for stable writing without a writing pad, yet flexible enough not to crack in a bag. The year 2027 is embossed on the spine – ideal for shelf storage alongside other annual volumes.
• Thread binding with 180° flat opening: The stitch binding allows complete opening without support. Both pages lie flat simultaneously – essential for daily entries that extend across the gutter.
• Tomoe River S paper, 52 g/m²: Thin, light, and fade-resistant. Fountain pen–friendly thanks to smooth surface and controlled absorbency – ink dries in a controlled manner without sinking in or bleeding through to the back.
• One day, one page: Each day receives its own page in 3.7 mm dot grid, complemented by a daily quotation (Japanese edition: quotations in Japanese). Includes yearly and monthly calendars plus an annual index.
• Two ribbon bookmarks in contrasting colours for marking two locations simultaneously – monthly overview and current daily page, for example.
• Rounded page corners reduce fraying when carried in a bag or rucksack.

Use & Tips

• Fountain pens and fine liners: Tomoe River S invites writing with a fountain pen. Fine to medium nibs produce particularly crisp letterforms on this surface; inks with sheen effects shine beautifully on the slightly cream-coloured paper. Non-archival inks may smudge slightly with very wet nibs – allow a moment to dry.
• Stub nibs and calligraphy: The smooth paper surface offers little resistance, suiting broader-nib pens well. A stub nib works excellently for headings or decorative entries.
• Daily plus monthly combined: Park the second ribbon bookmark permanently in the monthly overview whilst the first travels with the current day – keeping your calendar overview instantly at hand.
• Usable without an external cover: The HON is deliberately designed as a self-contained book. If you wish to protect the necktie fabric, you can add a transparent clear cover for the HON A6 – available separately from our range.
• Japanese edition: This version contains quotations in Japanese. For English-language quotations, an English parallel edition is available.

For Planning Enthusiasts

The HON differs from the classic Techo Original not in its interior but in format philosophy: instead of a notebook plus separate cover, everything is integrated into one book body. The result is more compact than a covered Original and lies more stably in hand when writing whilst standing, thanks to its firmer structure. The necktie-fabric polyester of the "Bow & Tie" series is not printed but woven – the sheep silhouettes emerge from the thread structure itself, giving the cover a subtle tactile quality that you only fully appreciate by touching it. The Japanese edition begins 1 January 2027 with Monday as the week start and contains 464 pages of Tomoe River S.
