Hobonichi Cover iyo okumi: A Story About Me (A6)

The Hobonichi Cover "iyo okumi: A Story About Me" in A6 format is a Techo cover made from grey cotton fabric embroidered with everyday motifs – a horse, rabbit, girl, dove, squirrel and flowers. The surrounding border mimics white lace and is also executed in embroidery. Each piece is handmade, resulting in minimal differences from cover to cover – embroidery placement and colour tone may vary slightly.

• Embroidered motifs by iyo okumi: Horse and rabbit face each other in mirror image like on a playing card, framed by girl, dove, squirrel and flowers – all figures embroidered directly onto the grey cotton fabric with a tactile relief texture created by dense thread work.
• Lace-like embroidered border: Small wildflower clusters and leaves form the edging, executed as a white lace border – a characteristic design feature of iyo okumi's work that gives the cover a classic touch.
• Butterfly Stopper Pen Holder: Two pen loops serve as both fasteners and pen holders: threading a pen through both loops keeps the cover closed. Suitable for pens up to 13.5 mm in diameter – pens with non-slip grips may be more difficult to thread.
• Two lace ribbon bookmarks: Silky fabric bookmarks that complement the overall design of the cover.

Use & Tips

• Compatibility: Fits the Hobonichi Techo Original and Planner in A6 format. Not compatible with the Hobonichi Cover on Cover.
• Pen selection: The pen loops are designed for approximately 12–13.5 mm diameter and may be stiff initially. Pens with smooth shafts (round cross-sections without rubber grip) are easier to thread through the loops.
• Care: As the fabric is embroidered, careful handling with moisture is recommended. The cotton surface is more delicate than synthetic leather and should not be scrubbed.
• Colour tone in daylight: The muted grey appears different in warmth depending on the light – on screens it often appears warmer than in hand.
• Complementary items: iyo okumi also creates matching pencil boards, transparent stickers and memo sheets in the same motif system – for a coordinated Techo setup.
