Hobonichi Tamagotchi: Cover on Cover Growth Chart! (A6)

The Cover on Cover "Growth Chart!" is a transparent PVC protective sleeve for the A6 Hobonichi Techo – created in collaboration with Tamagotchi, the digital handheld toy that captured the world by storm in 1996. The front features vibrant pixel-art renderings of classic Tamagotchi characters, whilst the back displays the complete growth chart: from egg through baby, child and teenager stages to the adult Tamagotchi. The clear PVC allows the colour of the underlying cover to show through as a background – making each Techo sleeve unique.

Features

• Techotchi Easter Egg: Hidden amongst the classic pixel figures is Techotchi – a Tamagotchi exclusively developed for the Hobonichi collaboration, featuring a pink beak and characteristic angular feet that can hold a pen on the Techo.
• Transparent PVC, 0.8 mm thin: The sleeve protects against scuffing and dirt without altering the grip or appearance of the original cover. Postcards or photographs can be slipped between the Cover on Cover and Techo sleeve to personalise the look further.
• Front and back with individual designs: Colourful pixel-art ensemble on the front, complete growth chart from egg to rare final stage on the back – a decorative reference for every Tamagotchi connoisseur.
• No slit for outer pocket: To showcase the full illustration, the slit for the cover's outer pocket has been deliberately omitted.
• Perfect fit for Colors sleeves and printed covers: The Cover on Cover is specifically tailored to A6 original sleeves with butterfly stopper (Colors series and printed covers).

Use & Tips

• Pairing with solid-colour sleeves: Over a plain Colors sleeve, the pixel-art motif looks most striking – the sleeve's colour shows through the clear PVC and forms the background for the Tamagotchi characters.
• Inserting a photo or postcard: A flat card or print will fit between the Cover on Cover and Techo sleeve – allowing you to adapt the Cover on Cover seasonally or by mood without swapping it.
• Not directly on the book block: The Cover on Cover is pulled over a Techo sleeve, not directly over the bare book block. Leather and faux-leather sleeves are incompatible – PVC may alter their surface.
• Cold makes PVC stiffer: At low temperatures, the material may become slightly less flexible. Warm it briefly in your hand before putting the Cover on Cover on.
• Check compatibility: Very thick Techo sleeves may not fit. Hobonichi publishes an up-to-date compatibility list on its website.

For Hobonichi & Tamagotchi Enthusiasts

Tamagotchi celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2026 – this collaboration marks the milestone with a design that draws deeply from the original 1996 game graphics: colourised pixel-art in the style of the first handheld device, not a modern reinterpretation. Techotchi as a newly discovered species within the Tamagotchi universe is a detail that makes the connection between Hobonichi culture and Tamagotchi lore directly visible – and for devoted fans of both worlds, it's far more than just a design element.
