Hobonichi Cover Colors: Black x Clear Blue (A6)

The A6 cover from Hobonichi's Colors series combines a deep, matte black on the outside with a clear light blue on the inside – a color combination that reveals itself anew each time you open it. The cover is made from robust polyester that has a subtle, fine reflection and feels firm yet light in the hand. Two pen loops function simultaneously as a closure: inserting a pen keeps the cover securely closed.

• Polyester cover with fine sheen: The material gives the cover a textured firmness that doesn't diminish even after extended use – and it remains easy to wipe clean thanks to the smooth fabric.
• Pen loops as closure: Both loops interlock when a pen is inserted and hold the cover reliably closed – no Velcro, no rubber band, just the pen itself. Suitable for pens up to approx. 13.5 mm diameter.
• Two bookmarks, two shapes: One bookmark features a triangular pendant, the other a square one – making it easy to distinguish two positions in the book at a glance, such as the current daily calendar entry and the monthly overview.
• Interior pockets and card slots: The inside of the cover offers several slots for cards, notes, or small items – practical for keeping everything you need for planning within reach.
• Exterior/Interior color concept: The clear blue interior sets a deliberate contrast to the black outer cover. If you like, you can complement the cover with a transparent cover-on-cover through which the light blue shines through.

• Fits: Hobonichi Techo Original in A6 format (English and Japanese editions). Calendar block sold separately.
• Pen recommendation: The loops are initially quite snug – this is normal and can be loosened by gently rolling in your hand. Pens with round shafts up to 13.5 mm diameter fit easily; very wide grip zones may require a bit more force when inserting.
• Bookmark usage: The two different pendants make it easy to manage parallel book positions – ideal for combined use of monthly calendar and daily pages or for marking a task list parallel to the current day.
• Cover on cover: The black outer cover is a neutral base for transparent or patterned cover-on-cover sleeves from the Hobonichi range, which are placed directly over this cover.
• Care: The smooth polyester surface can be wiped with a slightly damp cloth; for ink stains, quick blotting is recommended.

The Colors series is one of Hobonichi's oldest and best-selling cover lines and has been continuously refined over the years based on user feedback. The color concept of this edition – neutral exterior, vibrant interior – follows a design principle that Hobonichi deliberately developed further for the 2025 edition: the outside and inside should create their own mood shift when opened. The polyester fabric is densified using a calendering process that gives the material its characteristic subtle sheen without making it sparkle. The pen loops – called "Butterfly Stoppers" in Hobonichi terminology – are dimensioned so they fit perfectly with the included Hobonichi Jetstream (12.2 mm diameter); pens up to 13.5 mm diameter also fit.
