The Hobonichi Cover Colors: Navy is a polyester cover for the Hobonichi Techo in A6 format – a consistent deep navy blue throughout, inside and out. The fabric has a subtly silken surface that catches the light with a modest sheen whilst feeling firm and grippy in hand. Each cover is handmade, which may result in minimal individual variations in seams or inner lining.

• Pen loops as closure: Two loops sit at the sides of the cover and keep it closed as long as a writing instrument is inserted – no additional clip, no rubber band. The holder accommodates pens up to approximately 13.5 mm in diameter; new loops are initially quite snug and become more pliable with repeated use.
• Two bookmarks with different charms: One ribbon with a triangular charm, one with a square charm – both in the same navy. This allows you to mark two positions simultaneously, such as the current daily page and the monthly overview.
• Inner pockets for cards and notes: Several slip pockets on the inside hold business cards, sticky notes or loose inserts without noticeably thickening the cover profile.

Use & Tips

• Breaking in the pen loops: New loops are initially firm – simply slide a pen through several times or gently roll the loop between your hands until it becomes more supple. Pens with sharply tapered forms or very textured rubber zones may not fit as precisely.
• Pen selection: Slim fineliners, classic ballpoints or thin fountain pens up to approximately 13.5 mm in diameter sit securely in the loops. Rollerball and mechanical pencils with smooth shafts also work well.
• Bookmark system: The triangular and square charm bookmarks can be reserved for two fixed reference points – such as daily page and monthly calendar, or current month and a future appointment page.
• Cover on Cover: A transparent cover-on-cover insert provides additional surface protection whilst offering space for postcards, photos or washi tape decorations that can be changed anytime.
• Care: Protect the polyester cover from prolonged moisture and direct heat, as both can affect the material and colour.
