The Hobonichi Cover Leather TS Basic in Black is a refined, meticulously crafted A5 leather cover made from smooth full-grain leather — inside and out. • The butterfly pen loops work best with pens that aren't too bulbous — slim rollerball or ballpoint formats and compact fountain pens with narrow clips fit very well.
• If you use two planner inserts simultaneously (e.g. daily planner and Avec booklet), the two bookmarks allow you to mark both positions independently.
• Smooth full-grain leather responds well to wax-based care products — a thin application applied occasionally keeps the surface supple and protects against drying out.

For Leather Enthusiasts

Full-grain leather with smooth finish as here is what's called a fully grained or smooth-drawn surface — low porosity, dense, with even colour application. This means: scratches are initially more visible than on suede or textured leather, but smooth out through use and care. Over time, hand oils settle into the surface, the black deepens in places, and the material develops an individual depth that no new leather can show. The full-grain leather lining — no artificial leather, no textile — ensures that no peeling coatings develop even after years of use.
