The Hobonichi Techo A6 cover "minä perhonen: hütte" features a textile pattern by minä perhonen – a Japanese fashion brand that translates hand-drawn designs into its own fabrics. The motif depicts small, simple houses clustered tightly together like trees in a forest: a serene, green image with warm line drawings in pale tones on a green background. The outer fabric is tightly woven cotton – sturdy enough to hold its shape whilst remaining pleasantly soft to the touch. The inside of the cover is lined with PU material.

• Two dotted lace bookmarks: Both bookmarks are firmly bound and allow you to mark two places simultaneously – useful when tracking daily and monthly views in parallel.
• Multiple card pockets and one full-length pocket: For business cards, notes or a notepad – without burdening the spine of the planner.
• PU lining in warm beige: The surface provides the pages of the Techo book with a smooth resting surface and prevents the cotton texture from leaving impressions.

Use & Tips

• Pen combination: The butterfly stopper closure functions mechanically reliably only when a single pen is threaded through both loops – this keeps the planner's bulk and weight compact. Slender pens such as a mechanical pencil or a slim gel pen are easier to insert; thicker bodies (up to 13.5 mm diameter) are also possible.
• Breaking in the pen loops: New loops are tight. If you pre-stretch them by hand, you'll save patience when inserting a pen for the first time in daily use.
• Care of the cotton cover: Cotton fabric is sensitive to prolonged moisture and intense heat. Don't store the cover in hot or damp environments and don't leave it under heavy weight for extended periods – this preserves the pattern's colour.
• Each copy is unique: Since the pattern is offset during the cutting of each cover, the visible section of the forest house motif differs slightly from copy to copy.
• Multi-year use: The cover is not year-specific – it fits any Hobonichi A6 Techo book, regardless of publication year.

minä perhonen – founded by designer Akira Minagawa – develops textiles whose motifs originate from hand drawings and are then produced in specialist weaving mills in Japan. For the Hobonichi collaboration, these textile graphics are transferred via flat-screen printing to tightly woven cotton fabric, which allows for a print depth that differs significantly from conventional printing on synthetic leather: the thread structure of the fabric remains visible and tactile beneath the motif. Since each cover is cut from a continuous fabric length, the repeat window – which section of the forest house motif is visible on the finished cover – is individual for each one.
