Hobonichi Cover Tragen: Oakmoss (A6)
Carry – the German word is programmed here: This case for the Hobonichi Techo in A6 format is consistently designed to take the Techo along with pens and stationery in everyday use. The soft nylon in a muted oakmoss green lies pleasantly in the hand, the leather zip puller on the front provides a subtle, tactile accent. Triple-folded, with magnetic closure – and yet surprisingly light.
Special Features
- Spacious zip pocket with side fold (gusset): The pocket is not only wide but also equipped with an expandable gusset – thicker pens, an eraser or a ruler fit in easily without puffing out the outer contour.
- Magnetic closure with leather padding: The magnet is padded with a leather patch, so the closure closes softly and no hard edges rub against the nylon.
- Leather zip puller: The small leather detail on the zip of the front pocket gives the case something tangible – a deliberately placed material contrast to the matte nylon.
- Pen holder inside: A clip hook on the inside holds a pen by clip; when closed, it lies flush and doesn't press through the outer surface.
- Inner card slots and leather pouch: Four card slots sit on the left inside, and a leather pouch on the right – for business cards, small change, notepaper or sticky notes.
- Back quick-access pocket: A flat, open pocket on the back is suitable for tickets, receipts or a small notebook – without a zip, so immediately at hand.
- Inner lining in warm brown: The inside of the zip pocket is kept in a calm brown tone that softly complements the oakmoss shade of the outside.
- Color Oakmoss: A muted, yellowish-green grey – neither too warm nor too cold, neutral enough for any bag, distinctive enough to be noticed.
Use & Tips
- On the go with multiple pens: The gusset pocket holds multiple pens at once – ideal for those working with fountain pen, fineliner and pencil in parallel. Slim fountain pens up to approx. 13–14 cm in length fit easily even when inserted.
- Daily structure compact: Insert Hobonichi Techo A6 Original or Planner, pens in the pocket, cards in the inner slots – the case replaces a separate pen case for the desk or café.
- Compatibility: The case fits the Hobonichi Techo A6 Original and the Hobonichi Techo Planner (A6). Not compatible with Cover on Cover.
- Nylon care: The matte nylon shows signs of wear less noticeably than smooth plastics. For dirt, a slightly damp cloth is sufficient; the leather details can be refreshed with a small drop of leather care product.
- Combination with Tragen Pouch: Hobonichi offers a matching flat pouch made of the same nylon material – as a separate set for the HON-Techo or as a supplement to the Tragen case.
For Planner Enthusiasts
The Tragen series debuted with the Hobonichi Spring Lineup 2024 and came about, according to the manufacturer's own account, through repeated testing of various folding variations – from half-fold over elastic band closures to the final three-fold with magnet. The result weighs only approx. 76 g and remains noticeably lighter than comparable leather or faux leather cases. Each case is individually handmade and sewn; minimal dimensional variations or seam variations are production-related and not a quality defect. The nylon has a slight shimmer that shifts between matte green and a slightly shimmering olive tone depending on the light.
