Special Features

• Two leather pen loops – designed for fountain pens and wide writing instruments; diameters up to 16 mm have been successfully tested. Broad fountain pens, larger demonstrators, or oversized models fit securely here without slipping.

• For calligraphers: a parallel pen or fountain pen with broad nib can fit in one loop, a finer nib for detail work in the other – two writing characters, ready to hand in one case.

This open-pore quality is crucial: the leather breathes, absorbs skin oils, and thereby develops genuine patina – an individual wax sheen that becomes deeper with every contact. With the black Mörike, the color doesn't change; instead, the surface polishes itself over time to a matte silk sheen. Chrome tanning, on the other hand, produces leather with plastic coating that remains static and doesn't develop patina. The Mörike is hand-processed in Germany – loops, compartment, and zipper are crafted by hand, not machine-stamped.
