Ohto Ballpoint Pen GS01 Black

The Ohto GS01 Grand Standard 01 is a slim aluminum ballpoint pen with needle-tip mechanics, manufactured in Japan. The barrel feels cool and light in the hand, with the push mechanism located at the rear – no side button, unlike the predecessor model Horizon. With the included Soft Ink refill PS-107NP, the GS01 writes a precise 0.35 mm line from a 0.7 mm needle tip: soft and flowing, yet surprisingly precise.

Use & Tips

• For tight, small writing: The 0.35 mm line of the needle tip makes the GS01 the first choice in small notebooks, planners with tight grids, or paper with many columns. Even on smooth, calendered paper, the oil-based ink delivers clean writing without fraying.
• Sketching and drawing: The pressure-sensitive ink allows grayscale effects – from light gray to deep black – and is also suitable for loose line drawings and hatching.
• Left-hander friendly: The water-resistant, quick-drying oil-based ink barely smudges when the hand passes over it – a clear advantage when writing quickly from left to right.
• Changing refills: Remove cap, pull out refill, insert new G2 refill. The original PS-107NP refill is available separately in the LUIBAN assortment.
• Paper tip: On smooth, ink-resistant paper, the needle tip runs particularly evenly. On rough paper, the fine tip may be more noticeable – lighter pressure compensates for this.

The PS-107NP uses a ceramic ball instead of the usual steel ball. Ceramic does not rust, ensuring stable ink supply even after long storage – no discoloration, no dry start after weeks in a backpack. The ink is oil-based and waterproof, making it document-proof. As a Parker-compatible refill (98.4 mm length, 5.8 mm diameter), the PS-107NP fits many other ballpoint pens that use this standard format – making the GS01 also a solid everyday holder for the refill itself.
